Dedicated to exceptionally commendable wines

A family tradition
Our wines were established in 1923 by Stefano Ferraris in the Agliano Terme district in historic Barbera d’Asti and Nizza area – one of the best vine-growing areas due to its soil and microclimate.
Historic vineyards
We have 12 hectares of vineyards, some of which are over 70 years old. The traditional Guyot system is employed yielding 6,000 to 9,000 kg of grapes per hectare. The harvest occurs at different times so only perfectly ripe grapes are picked.

The wine estate
Estabilished by Stefano Ferraris in 1923, the estate is situated in Agliano Terme, in the heart of the historic Barbera d’Asti and Nizza area. We produce 6 different wines from our vineyards’ grapes: four Barbera d’Asti Docg, a Nizza and a Monferrato Rosso (only Barbera d’Asti Docg wines are currently imported to the UK).
Barbera d’Asti Docg I Suôr and Barbera d’Asti Docg Nobbio mature in stainless steel tanks. Nobbio is produced with the grapes from our 80-year-old Nobbio vineyard. Bisavolo and La Cricca are aged in oak barrels for at least a year. Bisavolo matures in 500l oak tonneaux barrel. La Cricca is aged in barriques.
Our cellar dates back to the 19th century and holds a collection of ‘natural sculptures’ obtained from ancient vines; some of which are displayed in the Grinzane Cavour castle.
